Let’s take a closer look at the next two big trends for the upcoming season. A Fairytale drama and Denim on Denim. How much fun is it to dress up one day as somebody out of a little fairytale and the next being all down to earth with denim.
A. and Furst
Denim on Denim is hot
Now Denim on Denim is a trend, but denim is definitely hot this winter. There are some very new items next to the well know trousers made in denim and it’s versatile. Because you can have the total *girl next door*look as well as the *sophisticated woman of the world* look, both by wearing denim.
Guess Jeans watch, Ti Sento earrings, Commelin, Marlene Birger Necklace,Mavi Jeans ad, Ziio bracelet and hot cowgirl boots by horses and heels.
It's nothing like the eighties (phewww!)
Denim on Denim is something we saw before. In the ‘80’s we had this acid bleached denim and it was cool to wear as a jacket and jeans. If I look at those pics ( with the big hair) I think now it is an ugly look. And for most of us, who were already young adults, we are not particularly thrilled to see denim on denim. But then again, if I look at those smoldering hot Guess ad’s, I can see how sexy it can be. Definitely way more than in the eighties! :-)
Watch by Piaget, bracelet by Seaman Schepps, Guess add and some more Guess, wonderful boots by horses and heels and a beautiful girl wearing some hot turquoise jewelry
Gold works so well with denim
Denim looks great with different styles of jewelry. You can wear gold and it will look beautifully as a contrast to the blue. You cannot go wrong. Silver or white gold might work too, but it makes the whole look a little colder. If that’s what you love you should definitely try to find that combination.

Wake up the cowgirl in you, my guilty pleasure:-)
Denim invites you to also play with the whole cowgirl theme. Something I secretly adore! If you do too, then play with gold(plated) pieces with turquoise.

Sneakers combined with denim are very much 2014-2015
It’s a sporty look when you combine it with the now so very trendy sneakers. You might want to think of combing this with jewelry made with leather, or rope or something very casual and yet sophisticated.

Blue gemstones work so beautifully on denim
But Denim ultimately loves to reflect its color onto your accessories and so any piece of jewelry with blue stones or blue leather or silk would look just amazing.

A Fairytale Drama
The other big trend is A fairytale drama. Lots of dresses and fabrics and imagination running wild. Love this trend very much as it invites you to play. You could either choose to go the full Monty with your clothes and then maybe a smaller piece of jewelry that plays with the theme. But maybe you cannot go so far and just like to add a bit of magic and fairy dust to your jewelry.
Such fun: Alice in Wonderland by N2
N2 has an affordable range of magical fun jewelry!
There are so many pieces of jewelry that would bring a little bit of that magic to your outfit that it was really hard for me to make a selection. N2 is a Parisian company that has a wide range of fairytale custom jewelry that I adore. It plays with themes and it really shows some humor too. Something that I find very attractive. Prices range from 15 euro till about 150 euro. You can even find it on Zalando.
Victoire de Castellane for Dior in her magical office, Little fairy by Van Cleef & Arpels, lovely colors by Miranda Konstantinidou, LES, N2, Blumarine cape, bunny earrings by Lydia Courteille, Sweet fairytale brooch by Issy la Magic, Art pure art by:Emily Cobb and a stunning deer by:Sylvia Corbelin
Or get inspired by the high end designers!
Of course, the high end jewelry has an enormous collection of magical and dramatic fairytale jewelry. For inspiration you should definitely check out; Solange Azagury Partridge, Lydia Courteille, Dior and Boucheron. There is some cute stuff to be found on Etsy too. Have fun and try to play with the theme with your make-up, accessories, wardrobe and of course: jewelry!
The ultimate fairytale might well be Alice in Wonderland: H. Stern used it to create these fantastic pieces.
Queen of odd and magical almost dark jewelry is Lydia Courteille. These are all by her.
